Scott Taylor was born and raised in Lufkin. He was the first in his family to graduate from Texas A&M University, where he was a member of the Corps of Cadets Company E-1. He graduated in 1969 with a BBA in Finance. Scott attended law school at the University of Houston, graduating in 1972. He was later stationed in Ft. Sill, Okla., where he was a 2nd Lieutenant serving in a field artillery unit. Following his military service, he practiced law in Houston until 1982 when he moved back to Lufkin. Prior to retiring, he was a sole practitioner and concentrated in the area of personal injury and civil trial law. He is Board Certified and a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates. He is a member of the 12th Man Foundation East Texas Champions Council. Scott is married to Pat, and they have two children: Robin, a practicing attorney in Houston, and Laura ’99, who works for Morgan Stanley in Dallas. Scott likes to travel, play golf and watch any sport in which A&M is involved.
